Basic Life Support
When an individual suffers a cardiac arrest, every minute without CPR or defibrillation reduces their chances of survival by 7-10%. 

This course acts as an introduction to basic life support. Learners will be introduced to the fundamentals of first aid, including CPR, different types of shock, the recovery position and wound management. This course will also ensure that learners are up-to-date with current legislation.
Mapped to the UK Core Skills Training Framework and the Care Certificate.

    • Recognise the signs and symptoms of certain life-threatening conditions, such as cardiac arrest, heart attack, shock and choking
    • Explain how and when to perform CPR and/or place an individual in the recovery position
    • Describe the basics of wound management
    • Recognise your own responsibility in reporting and recording
